JOKE 0F DE DAY

Joke Of The Day
HAPPY INDEPENDENT@ NIAJA

Joke 4 the dayhttp://www.youngchuks.blogspot.com
Sadly, Dave was born without ears. And although he proved to be
successful in business, his lack of ears annoyed him greatly. One
day he needed to hire a new manager for his company, so he set up three
interviews.

The first guy was great. He knew everything he needed to know and
was very interesting. But at the end of the interview, Dave asked
"Do you notice anything different about me?"
"Why yes, I couldn't help but notice that you have no ears" came
the reply. He did not appreciate his candor and threw him out of the office.

The second interview was with a woman, and she was even better than
the first guy. And he asked her the same question: "Do you notice
anything different about me?" "Well," she said, stammerig, "you have no
ears." Dave again got upset and chucked her out in a rage.

The third and final interviewee was the best of the bunch, he was a
young man who had recently earned his MBA. He was smart. He was
handsome and he
seemed to be a better businessman than the first two put together.

Dave was anxious, but went ahead and asked the young man the same
question: "Do you notice anything different about me?"

Much to his surprise, the young man answered, "Yes, you wear
contact lenses, don't you?" Dave was shocked and realised this was an
incredibly observant person. "How in the world did you know that?", he asked.

The young man then fell off his chair laughing hysterically and
replied, "Well, it's pretty hard to wear glasses with no f*cking ears!"

The! Rise of Runtown: http://www.youngchuks.blogspot.com

The name Douglas Jack Agu might not strike a chord, but the moment you mention the name ‘RunTown’ you instantly relate the name with the remarkable success of one of Nigeria’s fastest rising pop sensations who has broken several boundaries in the music industry within a very short period of time, and he doesn’t seem to slowing down anytime soon.

Runtown was born In Enugu state on the 19th of August 1989, he grew up partly in Abuja and Lagos where he had most of his primary education. Shortly after the death of his dad, he relocated to Abuja and in 2007, he wrote his W.A.E.C examinations in Enugu state where his paths crossed with that of indigenous rapper Phyno.

Fast forward to 2014, Runtown has several chart topping songs which includes his monster hit collaboration with Davido on the song titled ‘Gallardo’, ‘Succesfull’ and his latest effort ‘Baby Answer’.
Prior the release of Gallardo, Runtown has kept his hustle going as an underground artiste working with top notch acts, he featured on J Martins second album on the 5th track titled “Tonight”, and he went on to drop his very first sing ‘Party Like It’s 1980’ (Kinorbor) in 2010, the song was popular but the artiste didn’t get known. Determined to make an impact, Runtown kept on recording new songs and in 2014  he inked a multi-million Naira recording deal with Ericmany Entertainment owned by the C.E.O of Dilly Motors.

Runtown released the smash hit tune ‘Gallardo’ in January 2014, and just 9 months after, he has recorded a tremendous string of successes. He won the Best Collaboration Award for the song Gallardo at the NEA Awards in New York in August, his twitter account got verified a few months ago, he just returned from a trip to East Africa where he had a very successful media tour in Nairobi, Kenya with top tv & Radio stations like Kiss Tv, Citizens Tv, One FM, Spice Magazine, KTN, Homeboyz Radio and many more. He also delivered a very energetic performance at the ‘Lagos Party concert’ in Nairobi with a thrilling performance of his songs ‘Successful’ and ‘Gallardo’, and by popular demand, Runtown would be back in Nairobi Kenya on the 1st of November 2014 to headline the ‘Naija Nite Concert’.
Thompson Sekibo has said: http://www.youngchuks.blogspot.com

The Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence, Senator Thompson Sekibo has said that members of the Senate will not be intervening on the death verdict handed to 12 soldiers for mutiny by a military court on September 16th.

Senator Sekibo who spoke with journalists after a closed-door meeting between the senate committee on Defence and the Service Chiefs at the National Assembly in Abuja yesterday September 23rd, said the verdict of the military court is meant to instill discipline into the military.
"No we are not, because the Armed Forces are established by an Act of the National Assembly. The Act spelt out categorically the conduct of the soldiers and the way they are to behave wherever they are. If you join the military, that Act is to guide you and your conduct. If you go contrary to any of the prescribed sections of the Act the punishment prescribed for the Act you violated will come on you. So the military did not just wake up one day and say that they are going to kill Mr. A or Mr. B."
They went through the necessary processes and they found them guilty. But I think that those found guilty also have a way out. They can go on appeal and if the appeal finds them not guilty that will be it. But for what the military has done, they have done the best thing; because you must instill discipline in the Armed Forces. If you don’t do so, one day all of us here will be sacked and you will not hear of this place,” he said.
Meanwhile the Nigerian Labor Congress has condemned the death sentence. Speaking through the Acting President of the Union, Promise Adewusi, the NLC described the verdict as unacceptable and advised that the verdict be converted to a more tolerable and acceptable one
"We expect that the Military Council or the appropriate authority, whose responsibility it is to review sentences of this nature, should commute this sentence to a more tolerable or acceptable one.”.
He said the sentence to death verdict handed to the soldiers if carried out could sow the seed of a major security problem in the armed forces.

US president makes passionate climate plea at UN summit
The president said the world needed to follow a new course in the battle against climate change US President Barack Obama has told a UN climate change meeting in New York that the problem is growing faster than the world's efforts to address it.He said that children in the world should not be subjected to a future that is beyond their capacity to fix.It is the biggest high-level gathering to discuss climate change since 2009.The aim of the meeting is to galvanise 120 member states to sign up to a comprehensive new global climate agreement at talks in Paris next year."There should be no question that the United States of America is stepping up to the plate," Mr Obama said.
Mr Obama addressed a packed summit in New York
French President Francois Hollande was one of the few world leaders at the summit so far to make a commitment to tackle climate change
"We recognise our role in creating this problem, we embrace our responsibility to combat it.
"We will do our part and we will help developing nations do theirs; but we can only succeed in combating climate change if we are joined in this effort by every nation - developed and developing alike."
The president said the "urgent and growing threat of climate change" would ultimately "define the contours of this century more dramatically than any other" issue.
"We know what we have to do to avoid irreparable harm. We have to cut carbon pollution in our own countries to prevent the worst effects of climate change," he said.
"This time we need an agreement that reflects economic realities in the next decade and beyond.
"It must be ambitious because that's what the scale of this challenge demands."
The president said that before making his speech he had spoken to Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli, and they had agreed that the world's two biggest emitters "have a responsibility to lead".
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon made an equally impassioned plea to leaders and representatives from 120 countries to take the lead in the battle against climate change at the summit.
"Today, we must set the world on a new course," Mr Ban said at the opening.
He called for a lowering of greenhouse gas emissions, and insisted that by the end of the century the world must be carbon-neutral.
He described global warming as the "defining issue of our age".
"Climate change threatens hard-won peace, prosperity, and opportunity for billions of people," Mr Ban said. "We are not here to talk. We are here to make history."
Mr Ban was joined at the opening by former US Vice President and climate campaigner Al Gore, Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio, Chinese actress Li Bingbing and Rajendra Pachauri, head of the UN climate panel, which won the Nobel peace prize in 2007.
Correspondents say that meaningful new commitments to reduce carbon emissions have not so far been forthcoming.
However France's President Hollande has promised $982m (£600m) to help poor nations cope with the effects of rising temperatures, while Norway has pledged $147m (£90m) to Liberia to end deforestation by 2020.
British Prime Minister David Cameron, for his part, argued that he had "kept that promise" to run the "greenest government ever".
With so many nations attending the summit at the UN headquarters and so little time at the one-day meeting, three separate sessions ran simultaneously on Tuesday in three different rooms.
The real bargaining on climate change is expected to take place at a private dinner on Tuesday evening, hosted by Mr Ban and attended by a select list of 20 or so countries.
But the absence of the leaders of China, Russia and India - whose Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives later in the week - does not augur well, our correspondent says.
Mr Obama is eager to generate international support for the battle against climate change, as time runs out on his desire to leave an environmental legacy.
But correspondents say he faces numerous obstacles - including a Congress unwilling to curtail greenhouse gas emissions, let alone ratify an international agreement.
Mr Obama's last meeting with heads of state in order to reach a climate deal in Copenhagen five years ago ended in disappointment, with member countries failing to agree on a timetable to reduce long-term emissions.
Earlier Report of Nigeria that was denied. http://www.youngchuksblogspot.com
According to the earlier report, which the Nigeria military has since denied, two Toyota Hiace buses carrying girls suspected to be Chibok girls this afternoon drove into Maimalari Barracks, the headquarters of the 7th Division of the Nigerian army in Maimalari with heavy security...but the military is now saying the bus load of individuals were not Chibok girls.......

Qoutes by Chuks

Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination.
The only reason some people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.
If you make an ass out of yourself, there will always be someone to ride you.
Drawing on my fine command of language, I said nothing.
Some think I wink at them when I shut my eyes to avoid their sight.
Some people cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go.
If I wanted to punish you, I'd hold up a mirror.
While there's no 'I' in team, there's also no 'you', okay? So back off.
Opinions are like assholes and everybody's got one.
Hating something is too much work to do. What you want to do is ignore something. It is more effective.
When you're arguing with a fool, make sure he isn't doing the same thing.
There is always one more imbecile than you counted on.
Let us be thankful for the fools. But for them the rest of us could not succeed...
Every great thinker is someone else's moron.
The problem with the rat race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.
With the whole world full of fools, there is none who thinks himself one, or even suspects it.
A cynic is a person who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.
Has it ever occurred to you that there might be a difference between having an open mind and having holes in one's head?
